What areas do you serve?
We have worked in farmed, kept, and wild animal welfare. Our view is that - where animals are kept or cared for by humans - then it is possible to 'do it well'.
Who works at WelfareMax?
We are a core of animal welfare experts and veterinarians, and we invite people to work on projects which need their expertise.
How do you work?
We visit you, and work out what you need. We then work with you to gather information and data, and to create standards, manuals, resources, SOPs or workshop material, or to facilitate meetings. We've done this with companies across the world.
Why do you work this way?
Animals are farmed and kept in huge numbers. Over 60% of the mass of mammals and 70% of birds on earth are farmed or kept, see the images below (Humans make up nearly all the rest! - with a tiny percentage, about 5%, of the mass of animals on the planet being wild mammals and birds). People with high levels of knowledge and skill in animal care and welfare can 'Do It Well'. We believe that working with animal keepers and farmers to help them with knowledge and resources about the welfare of animals in their care, offers a realistic way to maintain, improve, and maximise animal welfare.
Confidentiality?
We keep confidential information secure and only allow trained staff who have signed a declaration covering their obligations under the data privacy laws to use it. If we work with you, we will sign mutual confidentiality agreements for the work.
Where is your company based?
We are based in the UK, but we travel a lot. We use experts from around the world. We believe that animal care can be maximised anywhere, by people taking steps to 'do it right' - and we can help you and your staff to do that.
